English & History
Olivia
Olivia is a qualified teacher with a Secondary History PGCE from the University of Cambridge, a TEFL course and a first class History and International Relations degree from the University of Sussex. She has been teaching, both in the UK and overseas, for over seven years and has worked in a variety of school settings as well as tutoring students one-to-one. Olivia's holistic tutoring style means that she examines student's specific needs when planning her lessons. Every student will benefit from a tailor-made plan which has taken into account their preferred learning styles and strengths, as well as areas for improvement. Olivia encourages students to develop critical thinking skills that will inform their understanding of the contemporary world and help them achieve their academic potential.

James
James has been a Secondary English teacher for 16 years and a private tutor since 2015. He describes his style as calm and supportive but also fun and easy going. He has an excellent knowledge of the texts and grading system for the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum, and has a comprehensive knowledge of a variety of exam boards including AQA, WJEC/EDUQAS, Edexcel and iGCSE. He also has a wealth of experience supporting those with a variety of special educational needs.

Simon
Simon has been teaching Physics in the UK for 30 years and previously a head of Physics in a grammar school. He has extensive knowledge of AQA OCR and Edexcel including international examination boards, plus he has worked as an exam marker for AQA. He has taught students from a range of academic abilities and prides himself with the ability to ensure they reach their full potential. He is passionate about Physics and would like you to become enthusiastic about it too. Over the past few years, he has started tutoring online and mastered the use of online Physics simulations to teach the most challenging concepts. Simon can offer advice and support on examination techniques which ensures you will achieve your potential.
Maths
Navid
Navid is a fully qualified maths teacher in his 5th year of working in secondary schools across Norfolk. He has a 1st class mathematics degree and a postgraduate degree in mathematics education. Navid has over a decade of experience tutoring students to help them develop their confidence in the subject and achieve the grades they deserve. Most of Navid's experience consists of supporting GCSE and A level students in preparation for examinations. He has also worked with some adults and younger children. His online lessons usually involve using collaborative whiteboards where he can model examples, draw diagrams if needed, whilestudents can attempt problems and get instant feedback.
Chemistry
Elenna
Elenna is a qualified Chemistry tutor with over 15 years of experience, having served as Head of Chemistry and Head of Science. She has developed courses for BMAT, Chemistry Challenge, and Chemistry Olympiad. An associate STEM facilitator, she trains and mentors other Chemistry teachers. Known for her genuinely caring nature, Elenna receives excellent student feedback, with her lessons praised as outstanding, inclusive, fun, and interactive. Her students frequently excel and pursue Science and Medical degrees at prestigious universities like Oxford and Cambridge. Elenna is also trained in tutoring students with Dyslexia, Autism, and Auditory Processing Disorder.

Dalia
Dalia is skilled at helping pupils develop the skills needed to succeed with the current English GCSE specifications, including reading comprehension, writing skills in a variety of styles, spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as literature. She encourages students to develop their answers as much as possible and to carefully analyse language. She is very familiar with all the major exam boards for both Language and Literature (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE) and can cover all set literature texts. GCSE lessons focus on exam technique and ensuring students know exactly what the examiners are looking for. This is in addition to experience in tutoring 11 Plus English, Maths Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and she has an in depth knowledge of requirements for CEM, GL and private school entrance tests across the country. Dalia is also familiar with the current Modern Languages GCSE requirements across the different exam boards (AQA, Edexcel and Edexcel IGCSE), in addition to A Level. German lessons focus on enhancing reading, listening, speaking and writing skills, in addition to strengthening understanding of grammatical concepts and increasing vocabulary knowledge. Dalia is a very friendly and approachable person and experienced in teaching a variety of different ability levels. She uses a variety of teaching methods to make learning interesting and fun, in order to get the best out of her students. With a teaching degree and four years of experience, Livvi has successfully tutored many children, helping them achieve their academic goals. Whether you're struggling with subtraction or trigonometry, Kathryn's goal is to make maths accessible, engaging, and enjoyable. Ian
Ian has been teaching Economics for the past 15 years in various schools around the world and online. He is also now a doctoral candidate in International Education, researching on the international education industry. These experiences have enabled him to familiarise himself with the various exam boards, Economics specifications and also the exam techniques, especially in A Levels, IB, and GCSEs. In addition to teaching, he also writes exam papers and specifications for international exam boards while also marking the work of candidates from all over the world. His students have always performed extremely well in their exams.
Spanish & French
Karina
Karina has been teaching Spanish and French in Secondary schools in England for the past 18 years and tutoring since 2019. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, she combines language lessons with cultural knowledge. She has an excellent pass rate for GCSE and A-level Spanish and knowledge of different exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE and AS level Spanish language. Her lessons are dynamic, creative and interactive.

Margaret Mary
Margaret Mary is an experienced science teacher and tutor, and is a reflective practitioner who always tries to help her students to get the most out of what they are doing. Consequently, she spends a lot of time thinking about, developing and implementing strategies to support their learning. Blended learning is something she has been exploring enthusiastically for over ten years as a useful and powerful strategy for learning. She shares resources with students and teachers on a variety of platforms, which has led to her involvement in writing resources for Cambridge University Press for the CIE GCSE Chemistry course. She enjoys working as an online chemistry tutor with one to one students because of the time and attention she is able to give them to help them to reach their full potential in Chemistry.

Tom
Tom studied engineering at Cambridge and found his vocation lecturing in physics at Anglia Ruskin College. He has been teaching physics in the classroom and as a tutor since 2012, and has developed a strong understanding in the most common misconceptions students hold. Tom is also an A-level physics examiner, and has worked developing and marking assessments for over 10 years. Tom switched to online tuition at the start of the pandemic, and embraces the potential it offers, combining whiteboard notes, videos, simulations and demonstrations in his lessons. Tom’s enthusiasm will inspire a love of physics, and help guide you to identify and improve your understanding of the subject and to refine your exam technique.

Emma
Emma is a highly experienced teacher of over 23 years. During her teaching career she has held various senior leader roles, including Deputy Headteacher, Head of English and Curriculum leader. Her strengths lie in teaching Maths and English to students from age 8 to 13. Since setting up as a private tutor, Emma has supported many children in their 11+ and 13+ journey, nationally and internationally. Her students have been successful in securing places in schools such as: Uppingham, St Edwards, Beneden, Kings College, Kings Canterbury and Downe House. Her teaching style is results focused with a high regard for student wellbeing, confidence and independence. She has a good understanding of the requirements of independent schools and a great deal of experience preparing students for the ISEB common entrance, CAT4, Maths and English, including Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning. Emma always builds a strong relationship with her students, allowing them to thrive and progress under her direction.

Toby
Toby is a highly qualified tutor with a Secondary PGCE from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of Leeds. He has taught and tutored both in the UK and Asia for over 15 years, tutoring classes, small groups and one-to-one. Toby's experience, patience, perseverance and organisation make him an ideal tutor and mentor for those navigating the stresses of entrance tests, GCSEs, A Levels and the rigorous IB. He is equally conscious of those who struggle in the classroom environment as those who thrive. The skills he has sharpened during his teaching and tutoring life, combined with a natural love of education and teaching, an enthusiasm for different cultures and beliefs, and an understanding of the challenges individual students have, enable him to help all students achieve their best.
Chemistry
Howard
Howard has been teaching Chemistry for over 40 years in schools, FE colleges and two Universities. He has taught all senior levels including GCSE and A level using all UK syllabuses. Recently retired from Institutional work, Howard continues to tutor students now mainly online. He has acquired a large amount of current teaching material suitable for online work and uses visual aids such as atomic modelling to enhance the learning experience. Wherever possible he tailors the lesson to the needs of the individual student and in particular focus on developing the problem solving skills essential to this challenging subject.

David
David is a qualified secondary teacher of Computer Science & Business Studies, with more than 15 years of teaching experience. Prior to teaching, David graduated from Oxford Brookes University and then worked in the IT industry in London for five years, initially for a fine art auction house and later in the IT European Projects team at a recruitment company. David's diverse experience has helped him to become a versatile educator, aiming to bring out the best in my students. He strives to approach tutoring with patience and kindness and firmly believes in the opportunities Core Ambition Tutors offers students worldwide. Children from various backgrounds and situations can receive a high-quality education here, and I look forward to helping Core Ambition Tutors students to fulfil their potential.

Nicola
Nicola has been teaching GCSE Science and GCSE and A Level Chemistry for 18 years and has been an examiner with a major U.K. exam board for 6 years. Nicola has always tutored alongside classroom teaching and has experience tutoring students from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, China, Hong Kong and the U.K. She has held various roles in schools such as: Curriculum Coordinator for KS3 and KS4, Head of Chemistry, Deputy Director of Post 16, Teacher Training Mentor and BTEC Coordinator. Her teaching methods are adaptive, friendly and interactive. Nicola is a firm believer in always working on improving the confidence and aspirations of young people alongside any teaching. She aims to provide students with the tools they need to be independent, work effectively and succeed in Science; whatever this may look like for them.

Dirac is a passionate and experienced educator. His education at Cambridge has enabled him to develop a research-based approach to personalise lessons to each student's need. He has worked with students from top institutions such as Eton College, Winchester College, King's College School Wimbledon, Radley College and Oxford High School. His students have consistently achieved top grades in GCSE, A-Level, and IB, leading them to prestigious universities like Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, and Imperial.
French & Spanish
Anna
Anna is an experienced MFL teacher with over 18 years of experience. She has taught French and Spanish from primary (KS2) up to A-Level for many years. She has taught in an international school in Malaysia where she was Head of Spanish and taught the Cambridge iGCSE curriculum. Anna is proficient in teaching both GCSE and A-Level AQA specification and inclusion and SEND are always high on her agenda. She has recently finished tutoring a home schooled ASD student with great success. He really benefited from the lessons tailored to his specific needs. She strongly advocates languages for all, believing that language learning can really broaden horizons and open doors to various opportunities and understanding different cultures. Anna has also taught English in both Spain and Italy and would equally be happy to support a student to improve their English as a Foreign Language.
